Starting next week, Target is releasing a new adaptive clothing line that will include different features to benefit children with disabilities.
The new additions to the popular Cat & Jack line, which will be sold online, will include such features as: easy access to the abdomen, sleeves that can be zipped off, side entry accessibility, and many others. The new apparel line will include sizes 2T to 5T for toddlers and even sizes for older children, ranging from XS to XXL.
Target Senior Vice President of Product Design and Development, Julie Guggemos, told the Huffington Post that her department spent many hours speaking with guests to learn what parents and kids with different disabilities and challenges needed in a clothing line.
“We wanted to ensure that the children who purchase the adaptive clothing or sensory friendly clothing from Cat & Jack didn’t feel that they were standing out in any way,” Guggemos said in an interview with the Huffington Post.
The new line hopes to provide stylish clothes for kids, but allow function and ease for parents.
