Thanksgiving is only a few days away and pecan pie is a turkey day favorite. I mean, what’s not to love? As far as pies go, pecan is actually pretty simple to make (and easy to eat).
So here are your step by step instructions on how to make a delicious and easy pecan pie.
What you’ll need:
- 9-inch frozen pie crust (or one you made)
- 1 1/2 cups pecans (chopped or halved)
- 3 eggs (beaten)
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 3 tbsp melted butter
- 1 cup dark corn syrup
- 1/4 tsp cinnamon
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
You can choose between a frozen pie crust or go for the gold, and prepare the crust from scratch. Either way, prep pie crust, and poke a few holes in the crust with a fork and set aside.
In a bowl, combine beaten eggs, cinnamon, vanilla, sugar, corn syrup, and melted butter until well combined.
- BAKING HACK: Spray measuring cup with non-stick spray before measuring the corn syrup. It will help the syrup slip right out of the cup.
Put pecans in the pie crust, and pour the filling over the nuts. You will see the pecans start to rise to the top.
Bake on 350° for 45-50 minutes. Since baking times may vary, pie will be done when the middle is set and not jiggly.
